In terms of visual representation, last year’s checkboard-like color gradient blocks represented the skylight at sunrise when runners trained in the early mornings. This year, the monochrome gradient means putting the perspective back on oneself and embracing unlimited possibilities.

2022 Taipei Marathon calls on runners for breakthroughs. The theme this year, “RUN THE CITY – WE ARE POSSIBLE” delivers a message that with a positive mindset, there is nothing you cannot conquer.

Additionally, the image of Taipei City is widely depicted in the shading and printing through geometric lines of different shapes on various event merchandise. The creative designs demonstrate the vitality and hope Taipei Marathon always brings.

Taipei City Government Sports Bureau is dedicated when it comes to promoting friendly sports events and love for diversity. For the first time in record, wheelchair racers are encouraged to join Taipei Marathon. Quite significantly, it has been 30 years for Lu Feng-He, Guo Wen-Sheng, Wen Ji-Cheng since they last participated in an international race event of 1992 Paralympic Games. One of the racers, Wang Wei-Xuan has already started training for his first half-marathon. Lu Feng-He also expressed his excitement. “I am happy to be invited to Taipei Marathon. I am also looking forward to seeing more disabled-friendly events.”, said Lu.
Tennis player star Lu Yen-Hsun is back for 2022 Taipei Marathon. His brother Lu Wei-Ju commented that he is not worried about Lu Yen-Hsun’s capability on finishing the race but still offered tips on training at nighttime or indoor on a treadmill to avoid the heat wave this summer.
By partnering with adidas, Taipei Marathon is able to implement the idea of environmental sustainability by having the finisher’s t-shirt made with 15% recycled yarns and ensuring eco-friendly manufacturing processes. Moreover, through working with British Standards Institution (BSI) last year, Taipei Marathon successfully became the first ever race that is ISO 14067 certified. To give back to our valuable supporters in advocating the importance of reducing carbon emission, a NTD500 discount will be offered when you spend NTD1,500 and above at adidas to those of you who is willing to give up on receiving a race singlet as part of the race kit at registration.

Since the initiative “Run For Green” taken by Fubon Financial Holdings last year, 60,000 trees have been planted across 7 different cities in Taiwan. In response to their commitment, various actions are taken in making Taipei Marathon “green”. For instance, finisher’s medals are made with recycled PET materials.
