Taipei Universiade Journalism and Marketing Progamme welcomes students who love sports to participate!
Taiwan is hosting 2017 Universiade and this will be the first time that Taiwan hosts an international multi-sport event. Taipei City Government wants to take this opportunity to promote Taipei as a must-go city. Meanwhile, Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government is hosting 2017 Taipei Universiade Journalism and Marketing Programme.
This Programme contains two sessions. Taipei session will be hosted on 12/5 and 12/6 at National Taiwan Normal University Gongguan Campus; Kaohsung session will be hosted on 12/12 and 12/13 at Natioanl Sports Training Center. This two-day event is free to enter and accommodation will be provided. All college students are encouraged to participate! Journalism and Marketing Programme is organized by Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government and executed by Chinese Taipei University Sport Federation. College students around the country who are interested in Universiade volunteering, city marketing or sports communication are encouraged to take part. The courses will focus on city marketing, tour guiding, sports news and communication. Furthermore, Universiade athletes are invited to be instructors. Students will be doing the assignments with athletes and will have chances to join the 2017 Taipei Universiade Youth Reporter Programme.
Department of Information and Tourism Commissioner Yu-yen CHIEN noted that 2017 Universiade is the first international multi-sport event that Taipei has ever hosted. Taipei City Government would like to seize this opportunity to promote Taipei as a sports city. By inviting young students to be part of the event, sports atmosphere will come to campus. By being a Universiade volunteer, students will meet over 10,000 athletes, and referees and guests from all over the world. 2017 Taipei Universiade is not only an important event for Taipei, but also a great competition that belongs to youth. By hosting this event, Taipei City Government wants to promote sports to youth and the next generation.
Department of Information and Tourism hosted a press conference on 11/23. Naomi Ma (Ma, Jie-Yao), Taiwan’s first international youth journalist for 2013 Kazan Universiade, was invited to share her experience. She will also be an instructor during the Journalism and Marketing Programme to share her experience as an international youth journalist. In addition, 2017 Universiade Chinese Taipei men’s volleyball players Liu, Hong-Jie and Liu, Hung-Min twins, taekwondo practitioner Lin Wan-ting and women’s basketball player Lin Wan-ting also graced the press conference. They tagged the hashtag “#我的城市運動宣言”(My city sport declaration) on their Facebook and Instagram pages. Internet users can use creativity and join the vote. Winners will have a chance to receive awards..
