According to the RDEC, 60 percent of the respondents supported the city government’s decision to form an advisory group to conduct a thorough inspection on Flora Expo preparation works. Results also show 76 percent of survey takers backed the decision of municipal schools to arrange student outings to the expo pavilions.
In addition, 55 percent of respondents say they are confident that the expo will be successful; 75 percent of survey takers have positive views about the event, believing that it will boost for Taipei’s profile and help create more business for the local tourism industry.
At the press conference following the meeting, Mayor Hau Lung-bin announced that the city government will give the public free access to the main visual logo of the Flora Expo. In other words, Individuals or companies do not need to acquire permission from city hall in advance to design, manufacture, or sell products carrying the design.
He encourages the public to help promote the expo by creating different kinds of expo-related merchandise. The main logo can be downloaded from the expo’s Chinese website.
However, Director Liu Jia-chun of Taipei City Office of Commerce pointed out that these products still need to meet safety standards dictated by the central government and undergo necessary inspections.
