DOIT Launches 3D Website Promoting City Achievements

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin held a press conference on August 19 to announce a new website dedicated to promoting city achievements which incorporates the latest 3D technology. The website will let residents learn more about city policies and the administration’s efforts. Created by the Department of Information Technology (DOIT) and based on Google Earth technology, this website offers users a bird’s-eye view of the city, allowing them to navigate through local landmarks from above – public complexes/facilities, natural attractions, and all of the pavilions of the Taipei International Flora Exposition. The mayor pointed out that DOIT combined resources from the private sector into IT-related services proposed by the city government. Residents will find this newly-released website useful if they want to plan a trip or obtain a general understanding of the latest developments in Taipei. According to the agency, the new website covers four major topics: Tamsui River Revitalization Project, Taipei Beautiful Project, Flora Expo Pavilions Trip, and routes for leisure activity. The information on the website consists of location mark, text description, photos, and video clips. DOIT welcomes the public to explore the website and to learn more about Taipei from a 3D perspective. Achievements of City Administration in 3D website :http://adm3d.taipei.gov.tw
