EasyCard + Taipei Metro App: Ridership Stats at your Fingertips
Binding your EasyCard with your smart phone has never been so easy! For the latest status reports related with your personal MRT trips, simply link your EasyCard with your smart phone app “Go! Taipei Metro”!
With GO! Taipei Metro membership, all you have to do is enter your EasyCard number into the application. Once linked, you don’t have utilize the card readers MRT station to check out how many rides you’ve taken this month, or how much you’ve paid for fares, or the amount of refund expected for next month. This effectively transforms your smart phone into your own EasyCard reader!
The GO! Taipei Metro app introduced the new “My Card” function at the same time TRTC implemented the ridership loyalty program on February 1. Once you’ve selected the “My Card” option, you will be able to add your electronic wallet by selecting the type (EasyCard, iPass, or iCash) and typing its serial number. After going through the confirmation procedures, the link will be completed. For HappyCash users, the card will be added to the list at the end of May.
Alternatively, you can register your card by placing your EasyCard (or any of the aforementioned e-wallet) on the card readers located next to the information booth in MRT stations. You will notice a QR code on the screen displaying your card info on the reader. Scan the code with the GO! Taipei Metro to link the specific card to your smart phone app. There is no limit to the number of cards you can link.
The GO! Taipei Metro app has surpassed 500,000 downloads at the Android Play Store and shows a rating of 4.3 stars. Starting May 7, the app has integrated a new “overcrowding alert” for stations along the Bannan Line.
