During the interpellation session at the Taipei City Council on September 23, Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin was asked by the city councilors about the screening of the documentary The 10 Conditions of Love. The film features the life story of Uighur exile leader Rebiya Kadeer.

Taipei City Councilor Chuang Ruei-hsiung showed part of the documentary at the city council when questioning the mayor; he also suggested the city government to take the leading role in screening the film in the city.

Responding to the request from Chuang, Hau said many films will be screened in the city; therefore, it is impossible for the city government to support the showing of every movie. Apart from that, it is the Taipei Film Commission that administers the film production sponsorship.

Hau further indicated that if the non-governmental organizations decide to show the documentary, the city government will respect their decisions.
