The New Constructions Office (NCO) announced that motorcycle traffic heading from Neihu to Songshan via Minquan Bridge will be required to take the fast lane on the bridge between 10 AM and 4 PM between April 27 and May 10.
During this period, the agency will carry out various steps of bridge reconstruction and setting up the temporary bridge to ensure road users can continue to access the bridge. The motorcycle lane on the north side of the bridge has been closed off to allow the construction crew to dismantle the respective bridge railing.
Chief Hsiao of NCO Public Works Section pointed out that Minquan Bridge is the major facility connecting Songshan and Neihu districts. Since its inauguration in 1982, the bridge has served the public for over four decades. However, NCO have decided to overhaul the bridge after investigating reports from drivers on unsettling vibration when driving across the bridge, hoping to resolve related safety concerns.
The rebuilding of the bridge began on November 1 of 2021. The entire project is slated for completion by June 2025.
The Neihu Police Precinct reminds drivers to slow down and remain alert when passing by the construction area. They should also follow the directions of traffic police officers and volunteer traffic wardens.
