C1/D1 Development High-Rise Building Column Erection Ceremony Held on November 14 – Construction to be Completed in 2027

The column erection ceremony for the C1/D1 development high-rise building, which has an estimated investment sum of NT$60.6 billion, was held on November 14, and construction is expected to be completed in 2027. DORTS stated that following the completion of the C1/D1 development high-rise building, an estimated 16,000 employment opportunities will be provided, creating a yearly economic output value exceeding NT$100 billion. DORTS also mentioned that the land used for the C1/D1 project has a base area of up to 9,600 ping and includes the new construction of twin towers, one elevated pedestrian promenade connecting with Taipei Main Station, a multi-functional garden terrace, and a large area which will be put to use as a public welfare living room for public cultural purposes. 


DORTS pointed out that the C1 high-rise building will be 55 floors tall, and the D1 high-rise building will be 74 floors tall. With a total floor area of 170,000 ping, it will be the most outstanding six types of railways co-constructed structure in Taiwan with the estimated number of daily commuters exceeding 500,000. It will be the most critical hub in central Taipei, and it will be the first stop for foreign and domestic tourists arriving in Taipei to become acquainted with the city. 


More than 100 distinguished VIP guests witnessed the important moment of the column erection ceremony for the C1/D1 development high-rise building, and DORTS Commissioner Cheng De-fa stated that the C1/D1 development high-rise building is an important development project in the west district of Taipei City. Moreover, it is closely interrelated with numerous projects in the city white paper, including urban regeneration, cultural city, and tourism recovery. In the future it will echo the overall construction design of the west district, injecting new vitality and style into Taipei City and enabling the rest of the world to view Taipei.


DORTS explained that for the C1/D1 development project, Taipei Twin Towers Limited Co. has teamed up with well-known foreign and domestic elite teams including America’s Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), HCCH & Associates Architects Planners & Engineers Corp. and Evergreen Consulting Engineering, Inc. to create a smart green energy building for Taipei with the following three major certifications: Taiwan EEWH Green Building Certification, the USA LEED Green Building Certification, and the USA WELL Building Performance Verification. This development project simultaneously combines historical inheritance, humanistic care, and environmental ecology, and following its completion, it will become the largest human-oriented and sustainable public welfare space for citizens in Taiwan.


DORTS emphasized that following the completion of construction of the C1/D1 development high-rise building, in addition to linking with Taipei Main Station, C1/D1 twin towers, and City Plaza (T6、T8) via the elevated pedestrian promenade, and the upper and lower walkways run for 800 meters along the south side of the site will facilitate integration with nearby neighborhoods and connects with common cultural living circles in the Beimen and Dadaocheng old town areas, creating a new look for Taipei through the integration of scientific and technological progress with Taipei City’s historical heritage.
