Intelligent City, Quality Life: Introducing the Taipei Pavilion at the 2009 IT Month

People are gearing up for the start of the 2009 IT Month at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC). Taking place between November 28 and December 6, the expo will feature major ICT companies displaying their latest products and services.
The organizers expect 770,000 visitors to come to the show over the nine-day-long exhibition period.
At the Taipei Pavilion (A530), Taipei City Government will showcase the innovations of affiliated agencies. From Department of Transportation’s YouBike public bike system to Taipei Astronomy Museum’s space exploration classes, visitors will have a chance to experience these new services on the spot.
The Department of Information Technology will also unveil two brand-new services – the Taipei Telecare Project and the Map of Taipei Amusements (MOTA).
For senior citizens and their families, the Taipei Telecare Project offers a way of ensuring the quality of life for elders while lightening the burden of the main caregivers in the family. In addition to helping clients keep track of their biomedical data, Taipei Telecare also provides services such as professional advice for health-related issues and notification of health-related events in the community.
MOTA is an interactive city guide system that allows its users to access a wide range of information, from checking train schedule to downloading discount coupons. In addition to the kiosks at MRT stations, users will have a new alternative of tapping into MOTA services straight from the kiosks inside convenience stores. Come to our booth to have a glimpse of what lies ahead!
