Unveiling the Mystery of Taipei City Emergency Operations Center – Explore the Core of Emergency Operations!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Taipei City Fire Department. To celebrate, the department has specially invited university and high school students to explore the Taipei City Emergency Operations Center (EOC), offering a rare glimpse into this highly secure facility and an opportunity to experience its operational processes firsthand.

The Fire Department has meticulously designed a "Disaster Prevention Time Tunnel," allowing participants to travel through Taipei's disaster prevention history in an instant. They will see how the city has withstood major disasters and continuously improved its emergency response capabilities. Through this visit, participants will witness how the EOC utilizes advanced equipment and comprehensive planning to achieve the "4 No's and 1 Uninterrupted" disaster prevention goal—no building collapses in earthquakes, no widespread flooding, no communication breakdowns, no power or water outages, and uninterrupted disaster relief—working together to build a safer and more resilient Taipei.

To further immerse participants in the experience, the event will feature a simulation of the EOC’s operations at the time of its establishment, focusing on earthquake disaster response. Participants will draw lots to form teams and take on different emergency response roles, engaging in a hands-on decision-making and crisis management exercise to understand how the EOC operates during critical moments.

The Fire Department emphasized that Taipei City has won the top spot in the "2024 County and City Overall and Sustainable Competitiveness Survey" by Global Views Monthly for the fourth consecutive time and ranked first among the six metropolitan cities in "Public Safety and Firefighting," reflecting outstanding achievements in disaster prevention education. The Fire Department warmly invites citizens to join us on weekends for a fun and educational experience, while learning essential disaster prevention knowledge to help safeguard their homes and loved ones.
