To promote the 2010 Taipei Intl’Flora Expo, the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) held a press conference on September 28 to kick off the online name-voting event for the new mascot of the Flora Expo.
During the press conference, the new mascot – nicknamed “Seed Baby” – made its first appearance before the media; boasting a chubby figure and the cheery dance, it captured the hearts of audience immediately.
Following an online name-solicitation event which received 3,469 entries from 3,500 participants, the upcoming name-voting activity will be held between October 1 and October 21. There are 12 names picked out by the jury panel available for this online-voting event.
Serving as the representative of the jury panel consisting of celebrities, the online writer “Queen” announced the list of 12 names selected by jurors. According to the TPEDOIT, those who participate in the voting event will have a chance to win double round–trip flight tickets between Taipei and Hong Kong.
