The Wenshan Art and Culture Festival will take place between November 7 and December 26 in Wenshan District.
To give the event a jump-start, the Wenshan District Office joined hands with the Performing Arts School 36 to organize a series of exciting activities on the opening day, including a parade, a bazaar, and a number of stage performances.
The parade will begin from the gate of Xinghua Elementary School at 10 AM. The participants will proceed through the District and arrive at the goal outside the Wenshan District Office. The total distance of the parade route is 3.1 kilometers.
According to the event organizers, parade participants will put on costumes and outfits that bring out the unique characteristics of Wenshan. From clothing resembling flourishing plants and flowers to costumes of zoo animals, the procession will promote the district to spectators through the combination of creativity and art.
Following the parade, visitors and spectators can stop by the bazaar located next to the district office. Over 40 booths will offers products ranging from handicrafts to local snacks.
Between 1 PM and 5 PM, there will be mini-concert, dance performance, roller skating stunt, and martial art showcase at the main stage.
Now in its third year, the Wenshan Art and Culture Festival is the first art festival to feature well-known performance groups such as Utheatre and Guoguang Opera Company. A number of community groups will also take to the stage as well.
The organizers invite everyone to come to Wenshan and enjoy the feast of art during the upcoming winter season.
