The New Year Countdown Party is just around the corner! Taipei City Government will join hands with TVBS TV Network to bring revelers an exciting New Year’s Eve celebration at the Civic Plaza on December 31.

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin, in the company of performers Yoga Lin, Fahrenheit, and Ho Jiao Xiang Qi, presided over a press conference on December 28. He discussed the details of the upcoming countdown party, including the use of a new stage prop – a cloud-making machine.

The novelty creates “clouds” (a mixture of soap and gas) resembling a variety of objects, from flowers to musical notes. The display of artificial clouds at the event promises to add additional ‘flavors’ to the annual event.

On the topic of performers appearing at this year’s show, the organizers pointed out that the cast of this year’s concert will include many heavyweights, including renowned band May Day, model-turned-actress Lin Chihlin, and singer Wang LeeHom.

Variety show celebrities Hugua and Pauline Lan will serve as the main hosts of the event, with Ho Jiao Xiang Qi, Sasa, and 2MORO serving as co-hosts throughout the show.

According to the mayor, the Taipei 101 fireworks show this year will use 20,000 shells and last for 188 seconds, making it even more extravagant than last year’s performance! He also reminded revelers not to litter and to utilize public transportation, ensuring a comfortable and clean environment for everyone.
