City Announces New Documentary for Flower Expo

Taipei City Government, Digimax, and Vivitek held a joint press conference at the headquarters of Delta Electronics on December 30 to announce the making of a new 3D documentary “The Truth of Taiwan.” The film will be shown at the Expo Theater during the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition.
Hollywood special effect heavyweights Richard Kidd (who supervised special effects in Spiderman 3) and Karen Goulekas (who’s works include Titanic and The Day After Tomorrow) are among the members of the production team.
Dignitaries attending the event include Richard Kidd, Delta Electronics President Bruce Cheng, Digimax President Helen Huang, and President Kang Hong-ming of Vivitek.
Mayor Hau noted that the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition will be the first accredited world-class exposition to take place in Taipei. He expects the event to draw over eight million visitors to the city. He hopes to take this opportunity to promote the city, introducing the visitors to the city’s achievements in technology, conservation, and cultural/creative industries.
The theme of the 3D film will focus on the natural disasters of Taiwan, including flash floods, typhoons, and mudslides. The mayor hopes that the audience will be able to learn valuable lessons from watching the film and pay more attention to our natural habitat.
