Mayor Undergoes Annual Medical Check, Promotes Wellness Card

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin arrived at the Yangming Branch of Taipei City Hospital for the annual medical check on December 9. The report indicated that Hau was 169.7cm tall, weighted in at 77.7kg, and his waistline is 88.5cm. Compared with last year’s record, the mayor has about one kilogram weight loss.
Speaking about how to ensure physical well-being, Hau noted that he has the habit of exercising – at a frequency of three times a week at least. Exercising regularly, remaining a good mood and keeping sufficient rest are his tips to keep fitness.
The mayor also took the opportunity to help the Department of Health (DOH) promote the Wellness Card to the public. According to the DOH, since the Wellness Card began to issue on July, 2007, a total of 260,000 copies have been distributed to the residents.
Card holders who attend the point collecting event will have a chance to enjoy special services. For example, two points could trade for one exemption on hospital registration fee, and people who collected the maximum of 24 points could enjoy free advanced medical checkup at all of the branches of Taipei City Hospital.
