Visiting Shanghai Mayor Enjoys Concert and Night Market Snacks

On the first night of his Taipei trip, Shanghai Mayor Han Zhang attended a concert featuring the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra at the National Concert Hall. He also stopped by a local night market to enjoy some tasty Taiwanese snacks.
In the company of Mayor Hau Lung-bin, the visiting dignitary arrived at the National Concert Hall to listen to the music by Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. After the concert, Han said he is very pleased with the outstanding performance of the group. He also took the opportunity to stress the importance of cross-strait cultural exchanges, saying that he is honored to play a part by share quality music with the residents of Taipei through the orchestra’s visit.
Hau remarked that he is also very pleased with the performance by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. He is glad that the concert serves as an opportunity for cross-strait cultural exchanges, and praised local residents for their appreciation of good music and warm participation.
Later in the night, the two mayors visited Raohe Street Night Market to mingle with the crowd and get a feel of Taiwanese local culture. Hau noted that the night markets are great places to experience the friendliness and warmth of Taipei-ers.
As he explored the nigh market, Han bought a stone statue at one of the souvenir shops, examined the glass beads made by one of the vendors, and tried out freshly baked pepper bread.
