On March 31, Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin and his wife Kao Lang-hsien attended the live recording of About Sex, a TV show on parenting. The couple shared their experience on raising three kids of different age with the 100 parents and kids in the audience. This is the first time the mayor appeared on the TV program with his wife. According to Hau, his three children (two girls and a boy) are exactly nine years apart. Despite the age difference, the kids enjoy a very close relationship with each other. In fact, his oldest daughter actively takes on the responsibility of looking after her baby brother, handling chores from changing dippers to attending parent conferences. Hau described his third child as an “unexpected surprise”, recalling that both he and his wife mistook the signs of pregnancy as flu symptoms. The mayor’s wife remarked that despite the burden of middle-aged pregnancy, the third kid made both her husband and herself very happy. They absolutely adore the new member of the family. The Public Television Service will broadcast the show at 9 PM on Monday, April 12. A rerun of the show is scheduled for Tuesday, April 13 at 1 PM.
