The 2025 Smart City Summit and Expo will take place at the Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 between March 18 and 21. As the co-organizer of the event, Taipei City Government has set up the Taipei Pavilion to showcase its many achievements, including technology-based disaster prevention, smart traffic, AI medical care, and 1999 Citizens’ Hotline Smart Customer Services.

Deputy Mayor Chang Wen-te attended the press conference for the expo on March 11. He noted that this year’s exhibition features numerous AI tech applications playing a role in the creation of smart services that citizens can experience, which are realized through the cooperation between city hall and industry members. Taipei has been proactive in the promotion of AI development, and “AI” can be found embedded in the city’s genes – T”AI”PEI. The city government will continue to support and we welcome everyone from across the fields to join hands with us in transforming Taipei into a city of the future.

At this year’s exhibition, Taipei City Government’s pavilion will display the latest AI applications in the realms of security and healthcare. These include the Fire Department’s use of AI for real-time data analysis and disaster prevention simulation for the purpose of improving the accuracy and efficiency of disaster response. Such application helps strengthen disaster-fighting capabilities with technology, creating a safer living environment for citizens. As for AI Healthcare, the service provides a more accurate and highly efficient medical care solution to boost citizens’ well being and health through AI-assisted health management.

At the same time, the exhibition also spotlights city services and smart traffic applications. There will be a demonstration of the contents of “Program for Real-time Speech-to-Text Transcription and AI Utilization to Improve Service Quality of 1999 Citizens’ Hotline.” By employing AI speech recognition and smart FAQ system, we are able to boost the service efficiency of the city hotline and reduce waiting time to ensure that answers can be looked up rapidly and promptly. In addition, Taipei City introduced the “Smart Dynamic Traffic Light Control Strategy Program” to automatically adjust traffic lights and optimize street traffic flow efficiency with the help of AI real-time analysis of traffic flow data, hoping to create a less disruptive commute environment for citizens.

During the period of the exhibition, there will be 8 free seminar sessions at the main stage of the pavilion, and we invite residents to come and try out the convenient services offered by smart city programs. At the same time, the 2025 Taipei Smart City Summit will be held on March 19. The event invites city representatives from around the world to exchange views and experiences on smart governance and innovative applications, as well as exploring the rising trends in the field of future smart city development.
