TSO Holds Citywide Concert to Celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day

To celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra (TSO) organized a citywide concert in the evening of August 26. Mayor Hau Lung-bin attended the main concert at Daan Forest Park.

The summer night concert also celebrates the 40th anniversary of TSO. Unlike previous performances, TSO has arranged musical concerts at 12 venues across the city to take place at the same time. By bringing the cultural event to the local communities, TSO offers Taipei residents the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable musical experience without having to travel far from home.

In light of the recent disaster in southern Taiwan, the mayor led the audience in observing a moment of silence and lighting candles for the flood victims.

The City also invited the volunteers from the Red Cross Society of the ROC to the event, thanking them for their role in helping relief and reconstruction efforts in the disaster areas.

During the concert, TSO played the classical theme music from the Chinese love story Butterfly Lovers, while singers including Julia Pang and Sean Hung sang all time favorites such as “Cats,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “West Side Story,” and “Night Rain in the Port City.”
