Local performing artists and troupes will be holding a charity performance for the victims of the August 8 flood in central and southern Taiwan at the Daan Forest Park tonight (August 13).
The guests appearing at the concert tonight will include U-Theatre, Cloud Gate Dance Theater, Performance Workshop, Chai Found Music Workshop, Ju Percussion Group, and If Kids Theater.
To meet the urgent needs of emergency rescue and relief operations, many performance groups in northern Taiwan offered their help at the first moment in support of the charity drive. On behalf of the groups, U-Theatre sought help from the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs. With the help of DOCA and the Parks and Street Lights Office, the groups secured the venue at Daan Forest Park.
The show will feature the various performing troupes, calling upon the public to help the victims of Typhoon Morakot. Members of U-Theatre will also preside over a charity auction during the event.
All funds raised at the concert will be donated to the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China, to be used for relief operations and reconstruction efforts in the disaster areas.
For those who wish to watch quality performances by top-notch troupes and to support the flood victims of central and southern Taiwan, come to the music stage at Daan Forest Park starting at 7 PM tonight!
