The Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) released the latest edition of Discover Taipei bimonthly magazine on November 10. The November-December issue spotlights major end-of-the-year celebrations in town, from Christmas celebrations to the New Year Countdown Party.
With the approach of the holiday season, the newest issue of Discover Taipei explores the local Christmas scene, from church services to parties. Of course, there is also information on places to go for the wonderful Christmas feast.
Of course, the last issue in 2009 would not be complete without a guide to the city’s renowned New Year Countdown Party. On December 31, revelers have a chance to see their favorite artists at the concert and watch the spectacular fireworks show at Taipei 101 to ring in the New Year.
To prepare readers for the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, this issue also includes reports on upcoming exhibitions such as the Chrysanthemum Exhibition at Shilin Presidential Residence and the Taipei Flower Show at Daan Park.
Discover Taipei is available in English and Japanese. Free copies of the publication are available at the following locations: Taipei City Visitor Information Center at Taipei Railway Station, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Mayor’s Residence Arts Saloon, the Red Theatre, the Taipei SPOT, Eslite Bookstores, and local MRT stations.
