Mayor to Attend World Design Cities Summit in Seoul

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin departed for a four-day visit to Seoul in the afternoon of February 22. The delegation from Taipei City will be taking part in an international meeting to promote Taipei’s achievements in the area of culture and creativity.
During his stopover in South Korea, the mayor will be attending the World Design Cities (WDC) Summit 2010 organized by the International Council for Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID).
The mayor will hold a 12-minute presentation on “Taipei: A City of Innovation and Creativity” at the gathering of design experts and municipal leaders.
Members of Taipei’s delegation also include Commissioner Yang Hsiao-tung of the Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission; Commissioner Ni Shi-biao of the Department of Environmental Protection; and Administrative Appeals Commission Chairman Chen Yeh-shin.
In addition to attending the event, the delegation will also visit the sites of several ongoing public projects in Seoul, such as the cleaning of the Cheongye River and the renovation of the city’s Great Eastern Gate. The mayor will also meet with his Korean counterpart – Mayor Oh Se-hoon of Seoul.
The delegation will return to Taipei on February 25.
