    In order to encourage people to take advantage of public transportation, Taipei City continues to offer a number of discounts and incentives. Since its launch on July 1st, 2023, a total of 2.6 million Megacity Passes have been sold by the end of November and the number of uses for the various means of transportation has reached 201.71 million. The actual monthly transportation cost per person is around NT$2,100 to NT$2,400. According to a questionnaire survey, the satisfaction rate of the public has reached 98% and the transfer rate from private transportation to Megacity Pass is 7.33%, which is actually higher than the original estimate of 5%. According to statistics, from July to Oct. of 2023, the city’s overall transportation volume of public transportation increased by 14%-27% compared with that of last year.

    In addition, the Department of Transportation, Taipei City Government, the EasyCard Corporation, and Taipei City Bus Joint Management Committee jointly launched the “My Carbon Reduction Passbook - Monthly Draw for Air Tickets to Japan” event on Oct. 1st, 2023. As of the end of November, the number of participants reached 78,000 people and is continuing to increase. The accumulated amount of carbon reduction has reached 2,382 tons. The per capita carbon reduction from Oct. to Nov. has reached more than 39 kg. People who have not yet participated still have one more opportunity to join the last draw of this year (Dec.).     The “My Carbon Reduction Passbook - Monthly Draw for Air Tickets” event is currently taking place.
