Taipei City Wenshan Senior Services and Day Care Center Opens Officially to Actively Tackle Challenges of Super-Aged Society and Establish New Model for Local Elderly Care

A brand-new Wenshan Senior Services and Day Care Center was officially opened in the Xing-Yan Social Welfare Services Building on June 24. The building has been enlarged from 312 to 536 ping and features fully-upgraded facilities to provide more modern and comfortable spaces—a considerable expansion to the senior day care center. In the future, the center will be able to accommodate 60 seniors who meet the assessment criteria of the Taipei Long-Term Care Management Center. The center boasts well-ventilated and bright rooms as well as new interactive gaming rings and training equipment to assist the elderly in physical therapy exercises and training. The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government will continue to optimize the activity spaces, facilities, and services of the elderly service centers in each district. In this way, the department aims to realize its policy of "one day care center per each junior high school in an area." In addition, the department will strive to create a safe, inclusive, and harmonious city, achieving the goal of "respect, care, support, and peace for the elderly."
