The Taipei City Government has been actively promoting public-private partnerships, inducing and encouraging private resources to collaboratively drive public infrastructure development. In response to the fact that the proportion of elderly people in Taipei exceeded 20% in 2022, and to address the health care needs of seniors, the Taipei City Government is building various levels of care facilities, from mild to severe disabilities, including home-based, community-based, and residential services. Taipei City  Government will also launch the Xiushan Long-Term Care Park BOT project. This afternoon at 2 PM, the 8th Taipei PPP Forum, organized by the Asia PPP Partnership Development Association, officially commenced. The Taipei City Government participated alongside elites from academia, industry, and the public sector to discuss long-term care issues. The forum saw over 200 participants, resulting in fruitful discussions.

The Taipei City Government is actively implementing the "Long-Term Care 10-Year 2.0 Integration Plan.". Currently, there are 145 residential long-term care facilities in the city, providing 7,470 beds, with ongoing facility assessments for 18 additional sites offering 2,330 beds. In the future, Taipei City Hospital will expand by adding 214 residential long-term care beds. The Xiushan Long-Term Care Park BOT project, set to launch next year, will provide up to 400 long-term care beds, integrating senior housing with a multi-level, Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), aiming to establish a benchmark health care base in Taipei and realizing the vision of the aging care to root locally.

Taiwan is currently moving towards a super-aged society, and the long-term care system relies on public-private collaboration to face the challenges. Under Mayor Chiang Wan-an's leadership, Taipei City is vigorously promoting municipal governance. According to the recent "2024 County and City Overall and Sustainable Competitiveness Survey" released by Global Views Monthly, Taipei City has won 7 championships, ranking first overall in Taiwan. Notably, it ranks first among the six special municipalities in "Medical and Health," "Public Safety and Fire Prevention," and leads the country in "Social Sustainability," "Economy and Employment," and "Education and Culture," earning the title of "City of Excellence in Competiveness."

In the future, the Taipei City Government will continue to gear toward the vision of "Sustainable Inclusivity, Capital of Hope," aiming to make Taipei the Capital of safety, sports and the future . " The city will also keep promoting private sector participation in public infrastructure, enhancing the effectiveness of public service through public-private cooperation.
