The 2025 Disaster Prevention Calendar Launch

At 10 a.m. today, the Taipei City Fire Department held a launch event for the ''Together for the Future: Safe TAIPEI, Peaceful TAIPEI'' disaster preparedness calendar in the first-floor atrium of Taipei City Hall. City government staff featured in the calendar from various departments were specially invited to attend, adding a bright touch to the event.

The Fire Department noted that this year’s calendar is a unique cross-disciplinary collaboration with renowned illustrators Nuan Nuan Shih, Nuomi, and Uncle Tommy, creating a calendar full of love and protection titled ''Together for the Future: Safe TAIPEI, Peaceful TAIPEI. '' Each month features a story-rich illustration that warmly depicts everyday moments with the city’s disaster preparedness partners. Nuomi’s soft and realistic style portrays the protective bonds within the community; Uncle Tommy’s detailed artwork conveys the strength of citizens helping each other after disasters; and Nuan Nuan Shih’s playful, childlike style delivers useful safety tips with a smile. Through their artistic expressions, these illustrators make disaster preparedness feel vibrant and approachable, integrating it into daily life.

Deputy Mayor Wen-De Chang attended the launch in person, expressing his sincere gratitude to city colleagues for their dedication and commitment to disaster preparedness. He joined the Fire Department, Civil Affairs Department, Public Works Department, Police Department, Health Department, Education Department, Environmental Protection Department, Department of Social Welfare, Metro Taipei, and local preschool children to celebrate. The event featured various interactive booths and stage performances, bringing enjoyment to both adults and children.

Notably, this calendar is more than just a timekeeper; it serves as a “Guide to Peace of Mind.” Each page includes a disaster preparedness QR code, linking to practical, easy-to-understand information on earthquake response, typhoon preparedness, and evacuation routes. This way, citizens can easily retain essential safety knowledge while enjoying the calendar’s illustrations.
