Taiwan Provincial City God Temple Donates Ladder Truck

Taiwan Provincial City God Temple donates ladder truck to city hallOn March 8, Mayor Chiang Wan-an arrived at the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple to attend an event organized by the National Cheng Huang Temple Fellowship. He also accepted the generous donation of a fire truck with a 30-meter-tall aerial ladder from the temple on behalf of city hall.

Chiang was greeted by the newly-elected chairman of the organization Chan Lin-chuan and the board members of the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple at the entrance.

During his address, the mayor remarked that the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple is situated in Taipei’s old town area, which is a prime location and an important hub of the city. An important place of worship in the neighborhood, the temple also acts as a spiritual home for many people in the community.

According to the mayor, the City God is the top manager of Taipei City and protects the locals. Staying true to the City God belief, the Taiwan Provincial City God Temple devotes itself to charity and giving back to society. It has donated a fire engine, an ambulance, and a patrol vehicle over the past years. This year, the temple presented the city government with a much-needed ladder engine, which will boost the emergency response capability of firefighters in urban scenes.

The mayor also pointed out that Chairman Chan founded the National Cheng Huang Temple Fellowship in 2006. The purpose is to form an organization that garners efforts of city god temples across Taiwan and strengthens interaction among these institutions. Today, Chan has picked up the mantle once again to lead the organization forward as its new chairman, and the mayor hopes that city god temples across Taiwan will continue to attract worshippers and bring the blessing of the deity upon the mass.
