The 119 High-Performance Dispatch System has been nominated for the GO SMART Award 2023

The GO SMART Award is aimed at recognizing public-private partnerships between governments and industries that pursue urban sustainability and livability goals through the use of smart and innovative solutions, accelerating the development of smart cities. A total of 43 proposals from 19 cities and 11 countries were submitted for the competition, and 14 proposals were selected as finalists, with 5 proposals receiving awards. The award ceremony will be held on the evening of March 29th at The Place hotel in Nangang, Taipei.

The Taipei City Fire Department developed the 119 High-Performance Dispatch System to handle the large number of cases in Taipei every year. It took 3 years to build the system, which officially launched on January 1, 2022. According to statistics, the system handled 140,000 cases in 2022, with an average of about 900 incoming calls per day. The system can handle multiple types of reports, allowing for precise information management and visualization, as well as strengthening message transmission media, real-time detection of location, and digital information transmission. It can also integrate with the Traffic Bureau's CMS variable sign system to remind citizens to avoid disaster areas and routes, further improving the quality and efficiency of emergency response and rescue services, and ensuring the safety of Taipei citizens 24/7.

As commercial and industrial development continues and building structures become increasingly complex, using new technologies to enhance citizen safety has become an urgent issue. The nomination for the GO SMART Award is an opportunity for the Taipei City Fire Department to showcase its achievements and exchange ideas with more smart city partners. The department is committed to continuously introducing advanced technologies to create a fast and effective fire and rescue service, and to work towards creating a livable and safe urban environment for its citizens.
