[2010 Shanghai World Expo] Taipei Pavilion Celebrates Arrival of 200,000th Visitor
The Taipei Pavilion greeted its 200,000th visitor at 1:30PM on June 24. The lucky winner is a tourist from Shanghai surnamed Chen. Chen expressed his excitement upon learning the good news: “I am so happy. It is beyond all of my imagination”. Taipei Pavilion curator Chen Ching-an presented the overjoyed tourist with a number of gifts. To celebrate the occasion, he also offered all the participants from the same group a Taipei Pavilion photo as an extra gift. The crowd cheered when they heard the announcement. The 200,000th visitor received an assortment of Taipei Pavilion souvenirs, including a pineapple cake gift set, a LED energy-saving light, an admission ticket to the Taipei Culture Weeks’ performance Kingdom of Desire, a Taipei-themed mug, and other gifts. Wrapping up his tour at the Taipei edifice, the winner remarked that the 3D film at 101 Theatre is his favorite, giving him an unforgettable and immersive experience of Taipei. Curator Chen said he wanted to thank all the visitors for their support of the Taipei Pavilion. The Taipei Pavilion has seen a steady growth in the number of visitors. He also stressed that the Taipei Pavilion will also offer presents to the 300,000th and 400,000th visitors.
