“Daan District Community Disaster Prevention Carnival Invites Young Firefighting Heroes to Join the Experience”
To strengthen public awareness of disaster prevention and fire safety, Taipei City Fire Department and Kiwanis Taiwan Taipei District will jointly host“Children’s Firefighter Experience & Traditional Toy Science Fair Event” Community Disaster Prevention Carnival in Da’an District on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Daan Forest Park. The event combines interactive disaster prevention games, hands-on experience booths, and stage performances to promote disaster preparedness and safety awareness through fun and educational activities. The event also encourages parent-child interaction while supporting local social welfare organizations and caring for disadvantaged groups, putting the spirit of social good into action. Every extra step in disaster preparedness helps bring greater peace of mind to daily life. Even the smallest preventive action plays an important role in protecting families and community safety. Fire Department will feature several interactive booths, including “AR Fire Extinguishing Experience,” “Home Safety 1216,” “Confined Space Rescue Experience,” and “CPR & Emergency Response Challenge.” Professional firefighters will provide on-site explanations and hands-on guidance, helping citizens better understand the importance of fire prevention and disaster preparedness, while learning how to stay calm and respond correctly during emergencies. Fire Department would also like to remind the public to follow the “5 Don’ts and 1 Must” principles when using electrical appliances and extension cords: do not overload electrical circuits, do not bundle or twist wires, unplug outlets when not in use, do not use damaged or dirty plugs, do not place combustible materials near electrical appliances, and always use products with certified safety labels. In addition, households should regularly inspect electrical appliances and wiring systems, and immediately replace any old or damaged equipment. Avoid prolonged use of high-power-consuming appliances and develop good electricity usage habits. By incorporating fire prevention awareness into daily life, we can better protect our homes, families, and property. Fire department expressed that through this family disaster prevention education carnival, disaster prevention concepts will take root in the younger generation, allowing the public to establish correct firefighting and evacuation knowledge through relaxed and interesting interactive experiences, which can then be implemented in daily life. In the future, Fire Department will continue to combine community resources to promote various disaster prevention promotion activities, enhancing the overall disaster resilience of society and working with citizens to create a safer and more secure living environment.
