Chill Out at Shezidao on the Weekend and Check Out the Embankment Murals!
Another new mural added to the embankment in Shezidao! The theme of “Let’s go play in Shezidao” now features on the embankment between Lane 107 and Lane 145, on Sec.7 of Yanping N. Rd in a mural that combines local scenery and childhood memories. The bright colors and cute graphics make it a perfect place for taking selfies! The Taipei Hydraulic Engineering Office (Taipei HEO) said the comic-style mural was created by up-and-coming designer Kurosu. Rice from Shezi became the stars of a funny short story that brings a smile to the audience’s faces. Also featured in the drawings are the local environment and ecology, as well as human interactions with the land such as bird watching, cycling, planting, wetland tourism, flying kites, and watching the sunset. Designer Kurosu said that all these once commonplace childhood activities have now become a luxury in today’s fast-moving and high-pressure cities. Once, we had plenty of time to waste with no regrets. Nowadays, even trivial things can make us feel happy and relaxed - Why not just sit back, bask in the sunshine, and watch the world go by? A visit to Shezidao is like trip back down memory lane. There is no need to hurry. These murals are not just for decoration. They are like a panorama that tells the story of the land, imbued with the feelings and shared memories of the residents. Visitors are invited to come and learn about Shezidao through these artworks. Why not swing by on the weekend and have some time to yourself?
