City Subsidies Companies Creating Workplace Day Care Facility
The City’s Department of Labor (DOL) Commissioner Chen Yeh-shin led the “Workplace Nursery Advisory Group” on a tour at the Wei Chuan Corporation on July 1. The trip was made to support the company’s standing efforts of creating a working environment friendly to employees raising young children.
The DOL delegation paid a visit at the child care facility at the company; Chen also personally introduced the subsidy incentives available for commercial organizations offering child care service for employees.
The Wei Chuan Corporation recently renewed its contract with a licensed day care center near the enterprise. Children of parents working at the business could enjoy special deal on school expense at the partnering kindergarten. The enterprise also established a lactation room inside the office building, ensuring breastfeeding mothers a comfortable and private venue.
Speaking to the company officials, Chen stressed that lifting the birth rate was one of the top priorities of the city administration.
He reiterated that registered companies in the city are eligible to apply for the child care subsidies. The package included NT$2.15million on the addition of day care center, NT$1.55million on facility renovation and NT$320,000 on the child care measures proposed by the company.
