The Department of Civil Affairs (DCA) announced that it will be accepting bookings for the autumn session of the city-sponsored group wedding between June 28 and July 2. The event will be held on September 9, 2010 (the 99th year of Republic of China) at the Butterfly Pavilion in Yuanshan.
The Butterfly Pavilion will be the venue of the opening ceremony of the upcoming 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition.
According to DCA, by choosing the unique edifice the agency hopes to provide the newlyweds and their family members a romantic, beautiful, and unforgettable experience. Furthermore, the arrangement also serves as a promotion, heating up the festive atmosphere for the expo.
Only 99 couples will be accepted to the group wedding at the Flora Expo venue. DCA welcomes individuals with established residency in Taipei – as well as those studying or working in the city – to signup for the occasion. Applicants can mail or hand-deliver the completed form to any of the 12 district offices. There will be a service charge of NT$1,000 for the group wedding. Attendance of accepted couples at the pre-wedding seminar is mandatory.
Newlyweds taking part in the group wedding will receive wedding gifts including two copies of marriage certificates, one group photo, one wedding video and one souvenir set.
