The Festival began at 6:30PM with flower fairies dance and pop music performances. Following that, the firework display opened by Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin who lit up a torch at 8:30PM.
During his address, Hau thanked the residents who turned out for the event and the Taipei County Government for their assistances in showcasing the fireworks. He also noted that the city government will continue to renovate the facilities of riverside parks and improve the water quality of Tamsui River, aiming to offer better outdoor activity venues for Taipei residents.
