Taipei Twin Towers C1/D1 Steel Structure Hoisted to the 19th Floor: Growth Diary Part 2 Revealed

The construction of the Taipei Twin Towers C1/D1 development high-rise building is in full-swing and expected to be completed in 2027. Following the completion of construction, it will become “a new gateway to Taiwan and a new starting point for Taipei.” Since the commencement of construction, it has been a project which has captured the public attention. DORTS stated that the C1 high-rise building will be 53 floors tall, and the D1 high-rise building will be 70 floors tall. Of the 94 smart elevators installed in the two towers, 18 will be smart double-decker elevators. These elevators will be capable of reaching the observation deck on the 68th floor from the 1st floor in only 34 seconds, enabling the public to feel the sensation of rapid movement.

DORTS explained that in order to document every moment of this "massive building rising from the earth," they have recently released the "Taipei Twin Towers C1/D1 Growth Diary Part 2" to enable everyone to gain an understanding of the current construction progress.

DORTS further elaborated that the video shows the steel structure hoisting and floor slab construction in buildings C1 and D1, and currently the structure has been hoisted up to the 19th floor. 1st DPO Chief Cai Zhong-qi stated that building C1 is 53 floors tall with a total height of 280 meters, whereas building D1 is 70 floors tall with a total height of 360 meters. Following the completion of construction, it will be the second tallest high-rise in Taiwan. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027 and officially opened to the public in mid-2029.

DORTS also discussed how with the advantages of the six railways co-constructed structure, in the future C1/D1 development high-rise building will serve as a transit hub for commuting and business travel as well as provide the public with a friendly and comfortable place for a leisurely stroll. It will connect with Beimen and Dadaocheng old town areas and create a new look for Taipei City through the integration of technological progress and historical heritage.

Because C1/D1 development high-rise building is located near Taipei Main Station, the traffic flow in the nearby vicinity is complex. Nevertheless, DORTS emphasized that the work team will make every effort to minimize the impact of construction on the everyday lives of the public and that the construction will be completed on time and in accordance with high quality standards. DORTS anticipates that C1/D1 development high-rise building will become an international attraction and a new source of pride for Taiwan.

DORTS stated that the construction of C1/D1 development high-rise building commenced in November 2023, and to enable the public to gain an understanding of the progress of this development project, DORTS specially produced the "Taipei Twin Towers C1/D1 Growth Diary Preview" video in May 2024. The video was warmly received by the public, and everyone is now invited to watch Part 2 of the Growth Diary.
