On August 25, the Department of Economic Development (DED) announced a series of deals and special package for Flora Expo ticket holders. These special offers include accommodation discounts and additional services during the period of Flora Expo at a number of hotels and shops across the country.
According to DED, the special deals on accommodations will be available at 164 hotels in 19 municipalities on the island – including 37 five-star hotels. Discount ranges from 20 to 64 percent off the standard price. For example, the Grand Hyatt Taipei will be offering rates as low as NT$6,809 per room (originally priced at NT$136,000) to Flora Expo tourists. The Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung introduces a 57 percent discount for double rooms, reducing the price to NT$3,300 for one-night. For tourists with tighter budgets, the rooms of affordable hotels start at NT$1,000 per night.
Other special arrangements reserved for Flora Expo tourists include complimentary gifts featuring local specialties, free shuttle service between hotel and Flora Expo venues, drink vouchers, and more.
In addition, local Starbucks stores (with the exception of Flora Expo Yuanshan and Flora Expo Xinsheng branch stores) will offer “buy one, get one free” campaign to ticket holders during the Flora Expo period.
DED reminds visitors to keep their Flora Expo tickets after their visits in exchange of the special packages. The second-stage of the ticket promotion campaign will expire at the end of August. The agency encourages those who have yet to purchase tickets to do so and enjoy the great bargains before too late.
