World Cup Quarterfinals Outdoor Broadcast in Xinyi District
Following the opening round on June 11, the partnership consisting of Taipei City Government and Chunghwa Telecom will be bringing local residents two more 2010 World Cup outdoor broadcasts at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Champs-Elysees in Xinyi District!
There will be two sessions – one starting at 8 PM on July 2, and another beginning at 8 PM on July 3.
After weeks of heated battle, the teams making it to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in South Africa have been decided! With longtime favorites Italy, France, and England failing to reach the quarterfinals, audience around the world are waiting to see which of the semifinalists will claim first place.
The opening match of the quarterfinals on Friday features 5-time World Cup Winner Brazil taking on Netherlands, while the Germans confront the stars from Argentina on Saturday night.
In addition to the broadcast, there will be booths at the venue offering services ranging from karaoke tryouts to face painting. The organizers will also hold a raffle, giving away prizes such as smart phone and television set.
The following buses will be extending operation hours on Friday and Saturday to serve the audience attending the event: 20, 32-limited, 46, 202, 245, 266, 281, 284, 611, 612, 651, and B10.
