Receptionists' Smile Impress Tourists at Taipei Pavilion
Shanghai World Exposition started its second day of trial operation at 9AM on April 21. Approximately 50,000 visitors were granted admission to the expo park, and 520 of them made a trip to the Taipei Pavilion.
Most tourists were interested in exploring the interactive zone located at the first floor of the venue. Following a tour covering different pavilions, a visitor left a note on the guestbook during his stay at the Taipei venue, saying that "Receptionists at the Taipei Pavilion had the most friendly, cordial smile. We are deeply moved".
The Director of the Urban Best Practice Area Sun Lian-sheng led a delegation comprising 78 officials from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing on a tour at the Taipei Pavilion starting at 3PM.
With the instruction of receptionists, the visiting dignitaries explored the "Smiling Taipei" exhibit. They utilized the touch screen and saw smiling faces of Taipei residents appearing on the monitor. The device left the members of delegation particularly good impression.
Taipei Pavilion curator Chen Ching-an noted the turnout at the expo park on the second day of trial operation is less than the number on the first day. Nonetheless, the amount of visitors to Taipei Pavilion still hit the expected level. Concerning some tourists’ disappointment over the closing of "3D Theater" and "Future Theater", Chen pointed out these visitors said they will come back and enjoy a second tour at the Taipei Pavilion after May 1(the official opening day of the Shanghai World Expo).
