Taipei Water Festival Offer Night Spectacles and Evening Admission
The 2010 Taipei Water Festival will hold its opening ceremony at the Gongguan Riverside Plaza on July 3 at 7PM. This is the first time for the organizers to hold the opening ceremony of the festival in the night.
To build up anticipation for the memorial occasion, Taipei Water Department (TWD) has collaborated with Department of Cultural Affairs to bring the live piano performance of British jazz band Dan Whieldon Quartet to the stage. The group will also perform at the Taipei International Jazz Festival.
In addition to the outdoor concert, visitors can also enjoy a number of amazing night hour highlights ranging from fireworks to the “light show” at Yungfu Bridge.
The nine-week-long Water Festival will run between July 3 and August 29. Taipei Water Park will adjust its opening hours, offering nighttime admission for revealers for the first time! Visitors can enjoy free admission for the first two days of the festival (July 3 - 4).
The following activities will take place at the festival on these dates:
June 24 – Ping-Fong Acting Troupe (“Trio”)
August 14 – Lu Guang-zhong/Li Sheng-jie Concert (“Happy Valentine Concert”)
Anticipating large turnouts on Saturdays and Sundays, TWD has prepared a selection of exciting entertainment for visitors, including magic performance, clown show, outdoor cinema, and more.
