Summer is just around the corner; a good swim and water activities can help you feel cooler. From May 1st to September 30th, 2010, 14 of the 17 swimming pools subordinate to parks within the jurisdiction of the Park and Street Lights Office (hereinafter the Office) under Public Works Department of Taipei City Government (hereinafter the City Government) are now open to the public. The other 3 remotely located and less-used swimming pools—Heavenly Brook Greenbelt (Tiensi Lyudi), Danfeng Park Swimming Pool, and Front Mountain Park Swimming Pool (with mountain spring water)—are set to open on June 1st, 2010. For the addresses and opening hours of all the swimming pools, please refer to the list.
All 17 swimming pools subordinate to the Office have already been entrusted to non-government companies for management and maintenance. Each swimming pool is inspected by the Office before they are opened, and is thoroughly supervised to improve their equipment and management system to ensure high levels of public safety and hygiene, thus offering recreational places that are secure, clean and comfortable for residents of Taipei City.
The Office encourages all residents who enjoy swimming to make the most of these swimming pools. Meanwhile, please also take note of the following reminders. Please attend to your personal hygiene: Take a shower and wear a swimming cap before entering the pool. If you use suntan lotion, please do not enter the pool so as to preserve the quality of the water. To ensure your safety, please do not enter the pool if you are drunk, suffering from any skin disease or contagious disease, or have a heart disorder.
The swimming fees are set in accordance with the fee standards approved by the City Government, as listed in the table.
