[2009 Deaflympics] Traffic Control for Closing Ceremony

With the approach of the closing ceremony for the 2009 Summer Deaflympics on September 15, the city government has announced the following traffic control measures for the vicinity of Taipei Arena.

The duration and roads affected are as follows:

- Beining Road (between Nanjing E. Road and Bade Road): 4PM – midnight
- Bade Road (between Beining Road and Dunhua N. Road): 4PM – midnight
- Dunhau N. Road (between Civic Boulevard and Nanjing E. Road): 9PM – midnight; motorcycles are prohibited from entering the northbound slow lane.

The Taipei Arena parking lot will be closed between 4 PM and midnight on September 15. The parking spaces for motorcycles on the side of Taipei Stadium along Dunhua N. Road (between Bade Road and Nanjing E. Road) will also be suspended for the entire day.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) urges motorists to avoid the surrounding roads near Taipei Arena during this period. Individuals attending the closing ceremony are encouraged to take public transportation.

The organizing committee has arranged free shuttle services between Taipei Arena and nearby MRT Stations both before (Phase I) and after (Phase II) the ceremony.

Shuttle Service Phase I: 5:30PM – 7:30PM
Boarding: MRT Zhongxiao Dunhua Station (exit 9) and MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station (exit 5)
Disembarking: Bade Road Section 2 (south side)

Shuttle Service Phase II: 8PM – 11PM
Boarding: Intersection of Bade Road and Dunhau S. Road (southwest corner)
Disembarking: MRT Zhongxiao Dunhua Station (exit 9) and MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Staion (exit 5)
