City Responds to Censure Motion over MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line
Regarding the Control Yuan’s decision to censure Taipei City Government over the MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line, City Spokesperson Chao Hsin-pin said the city government respects the Control Yuan’s decision on the case.
It would follow the regulations and investigate the matter upon receiving the official notice from the Control Yuan.
She said the city government has always taken the issues related with the MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line seriously. Following the incident on July 10, the city government responded rapidly by updating the system network and power supply of the MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line over two consecutive weekends in August.
According to Chao, the construction of the MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line involves numerous individuals working on many aspects of the project – ranging from planning, designing, outsourcing, to operations. Furthermore, the entire construction process took years, making investigation more complicated.
However, Chao stressed that all individuals involved with misdoings – political appointees, civil servants, retired employees, or former staff members – will be held responsible upon discovery of evidence.
