Dinosaurs to Take Zoo by Storm
Ancient monsters from the upcoming theatric spectacle Walking with the Dinosaurs will visit Taipei Zoo on August 26 and 27 respectively. Kids can expect to catch a glimpse of the terrifying Tyrannosaurus-Rex and agile Utahraptor at the gates starting 10:15 AM on both days. The two beasts will stage a short 15-minute performance at the main entrance plaza. According to zoo staff, the dinosaurs will charge at the spectators, giving the audience a taste of what life was like 200 million years ago, when the giant lizards dominated the world. Zoo Director Jason Yeh announced that children participating in the “Happy Animal Baby Summer Camp” this year will have chance of winning a free ticket to the Walking with the Dinosaurs show. The zoo will be giving away ten tickets. The summer camp is still open for registration. Those seeking to join can check out the Zoo’s animal conservation website (Chinese) at http://newweb.zoo.gov.tw/. In addition, the Zoo’s Education Center houses a permanent exhibition featuring a number of life-size dinosaur models, attracting the attention of dinosaur enthusiasts.
