As of May. 2026, the number of legally registered factories in the City was 878 wherein 123 are manufacturers of computers, electronic and optical products; 115 are manufacturers of fabricated metal products; 114 are manufacturers of food products; 67 are printing and reproduction factories of recorded media; 71 are manufacturers of machinery and equipment; 58 are manufacturers of electrical equipment; and 53 are manufacturers of electronic parts and components; totaling 601 factories, and accounting for 68.45% of the total number of factories in the City. They are the major categories of the City’s existing factories. Distribution by administrative region: Neihu District tops the rank with 389 factories, followed by Nangang District with 223 factories, together making up 69.7％ of the total.
