City Invites 99 Couples to Celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day at Rainbow Bridge
Chinese Valentine’s Day (also known as Qi Xi) will fall on August 16 this year. To celebrate the occasion, the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) and the Hydraulic Engineering Office (HEO) will organize a series of events in the evening of August 15. The events will take place between 4PM and 8PM at the riverside parks next to the Rainbow Bridge. The main attraction of the outdoor celebrations will be the Rainbow Bridge’s first-ever hourly light show at 7:07 PM. A dazzling display of lights beneath the night sky will no doubt charm the spectators. TPEDOIT announced that it will be inviting 99 couples to the take part in the special performance (named “Love’s Witness”) as VIP guests. Registration deadline for the “Love’s Witness”: 6 PM on August 10 Application form is available for download at the event’s Chinese activity website. Applicants are required to provide an account of their love story when completing the form. The completed form can be submitted by fax (02-2693-1967).
