ZSHC Urges Residents to Get Vaccinated against H1N1

The Lunar New Year holiday is a time for travels and trips, exposing more people to the threat of swine flu. In light of this danger, the Zhongshan District Health Center (ZSHC) recommends residents to receive inoculations against the A (H1N1) influenza before heading out, protecting themselves and others during the long vacation.
The Deputy Director General of Center of Disease Control (CDC) Shih Wen-i noted that free vaccination service is available at major transportation hubs including Taipei Railway Station, Taipei Bus Station, and four airports with direct flight to China – Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, Songshan and Taichung – between February 1 and February 13.
To be eligible for the free flu shot, you must belong to one of the following groups: ROC citizens, new immigrants with the right to reside or work in the ROC, and foreign nationals with the right to reside or work in the ROC. Vaccination recipients can choose the brand of the vaccine (Novartis or Adimmune) at the site.
ZSHC advises residents to stay alert and to pay attention to their personal hygiene. For information on H1N1 prevention tips, please call the flu report and consultation hotline “1922” or visit the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov.tw/mp.asp?mp=5.
