Taipei Zoo will be holding the “Working@zoo” (pronounced ‘working at zoo’) workshop for Taiepi’s elementary and middle school students between July 3 and December 31.
According to the Taipei Zoo Director Jason Yeh, the main objective of the workshop is to provide kids with hands-on experiences on zoo jobs. Participants will be able to choose from nine different ‘career path’, including zoo director, gardener, researcher, ticket office staff, zoo keeper, insect keeper, electrician, veterinarian, and zoo theater performer.
The Working@zoo program will run five times a day (Tuesdays through Sundays). Three additional sessions are available on Saturday during extended hours.
Individuals interested in the program should purchase the “career passport” at the service counters any of the following facilities: the Education Center, the Energy Conservation House, or the Amphibian/Reptile House. The passport costs NT$300 and is valid for participating in all nine workshops. Single ticket is priced at NT$100 and is good for up to three workshops.
To accommodate the influx of tourists during the summer vacation period, Taipei Zoo will prolong opening hours to 9PM on Saturdays. The institution will also offer free admission to students attending elementary/middle schools in Taipei (a digital student ID is required).
