Holiday Tea Fair Held at MOCA Plaza
Taipei City Office of Commerce (TCOOC) joined hands with Taipei Tea Merchants Association (TTMA) to organize a tea exhibition and promotion event at the outdoor plaza in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei on August 28.
The highlights of the one-day fair included the Moon Festival tea gift sets sale, tea tasting session, tea brewing lesson, and quiz game. In addition, the merchants have prepared a number of freebies and souvenirs for participating visitors. The giveaway session will take place each hour starting from 2PM.
Those who make purchases of NT$500 or more at the event are eligible to register for the Taipei Shopping Festival online raffle. The top prize of the raffle is a BMW (worth NT$ 1.79million). Taipei Shopping Card holders will have chances of winning additional gifts, including EasyCards offering free rides for an entire year, ones offering free rides for six months, Acer BeTouch E400 mobile phone, and more.
TCOOC Director Liu Chia-chun pointed out that the city government first introduced the “Outstanding Tea Merchant Certificate” back in 2008. Tea dealers must adhere to 4 standards to “earn” the certificates: integrity, trustworthiness, high-quality service, and eco-friendliness. A total of 17 certificated tea growers will attend the event on Saturday.
