Mayor Hau Lung-bin attended the premiere of Love in Disguise at Showtime Cinema on August 12. US-born singer Wang Leehom, who is also the spokesperson for the Taipei Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo, directed and starred in the new film. Hau presented a flower bouquet to the artist on stage, showing his support for Wang’s first step into the movie-making business. The mayor also pointed out that Wang has achieved many important accomplishments with his music talents, citing the theme song for the Taipei Pavilion as a good example. The song – Smile at First Sight – is a remake of the original hit by Teresa Teng. During his address, Hau reminded the up-and-coming director that Taipei City Government is offering incentives for movie projects being carried out in Taipei. The proposed red-carpet ceremony was cancelled due to the overwhelming turnout of fans at the venue. The VIP invitees – including May Day, Harlem Yu, Director Tou (Niu Cheng-tse), and the mayor himself – entered from the side entrance of the main stage to avoid the large crowd.
