Zhangjiakou Mayor Zheng Xuebi led an eight-member delegation on a visit to the city hall on May 26 to meet with Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin. During the meeting, both sides exchanged opinions on topics ranging from tourism development to economic exchange.
Hau introduced Zheng to the top attractions of Taipei City – places they would not want to miss. These locations include the National Palace Museum, the Taipei 101, the Neihu Technology Park, and the Nangang Software Park.
The mayor also encouraged the group members to enjoy some local specialties at the night markets and take a ride on MRT if time allows.
Zheng pointed out that he has experienced the unique charm of the City the moment he landed at the airport. The members were impressed with Taipei’s well-established infrastructures. Zheng also invited Hau to visit Zhangjiakou City if he has a chance.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts between the two mayors.
The delegation is in Taiwan to attend the “9th Ji Tai Economy Cooperation Conference”. The meeting has become an important platform of economic exchange between Taiwanese companies and their Heibei counterparts.
The city of Zhangjiakou is the transportation, military, and economic hub connecting Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia. With a population of 4.5 million, the prefecture-level city is one of the four ancient gateways of the Great Wall.
